Description

The light pink Maridenim Barrel jeans are made of non-stretch cotton denim in the Unikko pattern. The 5-pocket jeans have a mid-rise waist, a relaxed fit, and cropped legs with a curved cut. The jeans have Marimekko jean buttons and the Marimekko jean label in the back, which is made of FSC-certified jacron-material.


Maridenim products have a special finishing and patina which give each piece a unique, distinctive character. This feature is part of the charm and appeal of Maridenim products.

Marimekko Maridenim products are designed following the Jeans Redesign guidelines of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the world’s leading network on circular economy. According to the guidelines, the denim material is monomaterial cotton (100% organic cotton) with no elastane. Marimekko Maridenim is made with minimal use of hardware, including the use of removable buttons and no rivets. The washing, finishing and use of chemicals also follow the guidelines. To produce the colors, patterns and desired feel of the products, we use, for example, laser technology, E-Flow steam washing and ozone washing, instead of, for example, traditional stone washing.

Marimekko’s famous pattern Unikko was born in 1964 in a time when the design house’s collections featured mostly abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting from this organic theme and designed an entire range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.
